Youth Grievances & Family Support

thin red line

The Office of Youth Grievances and Family Support is responsible for receipt and resolution of youth grievances, allegations and complaints. Youth Grievances and Family Support Coordinators act as impartial advocates for youth by looking into concerns and coordinating improvements to the care and services our youth receive. When a youth makes a complaint or has a problem in regard to care or treatment, they are encouraged to complete a grievance form. Youth can receive assistance from a staff member in completing the form if needed. These forms are submitted through a secure grievance box. In addition, parents or family members may submit grievances, allegations, and medical concerns for youth in DJJ secure facilities and placements by completing this online form

Upon receiving the form, the Office of Youth Grievances and Family Support either forwards it to the correct entity/office or looks into the matter to see how they can help. The Office of Youth Grievance and Family Support works with facility managers to ensure that the proper and fair outcome of the grievance is completed and youth concerns are resolved.
